Bristol Saturdays With Sarah ~ Baby Swoon Quilt~ December 2022
This quilt = the cutest quilt EVER! Head over to Sew Easy Sewing and get the Thimble Blossoms Simply Swoon Pattern. We will be sewing the baby quilt size (42” x 42”). In this class, you will learn how to cut out your fabric, basic piecing, and pressing skills, and how to prepare your backing fabric for longarm quilting. When we are finished sewing up the quilt top, if you decide that you want your baby swoon longarm quilted, you'll receive 50% off for those that attend the class. Be sure to sign up!

Length of Class: approximately 3 - 3.5 hours
Tools Needed for Class:

- Working sewing machine with which you are familiar – (This is VERY important, please make sure you are familiar with your machine and know how to use it)
- 1/4" sewing machine foot
- Open Toe sewing machine foot
- Rotary Cutter/Ruler
- Straight Pins
- Seam Ripper
- Spool of thread (I use 50wt Aurifil). Choose a color that coordinates with the fabric
- 2-3 - bobbins filled with color-coordinating thread

- Thimble Blossoms Simply Swoon Quilt Pattern
- 1 yard fabric for outer star
- ½ yard fabric for inner star
- ½ yard fabric for star points
- 1 and ½ yard for background
- ½ yard for binding (we will not be sewing the binding on during the class, but you will need this to finish your quilt)
- 2 and ¾ yards (44” wide) backing fabric

Full payment is due to secure your spot upon signing up for a class. 100% of a class fee is refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is done at least 48 hours before class. This allows us to offer your spot to an individual on the waiting list and it ensures that our teachers will be compensated for their time. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange.

| Instructor Bio: | Sarah Schulte was so obsessed with fabric and quilting, she started her own business called Quilts and Ladders where she uses her longarm machine to quilt customer quilts and which has also further enabled her obsession with fabric and quilting because now she gets to see and touch all the beautiful quilt tops her customers send her (I suppose it also helps her pay for that machine). When she quilts for her customers she finds joy in picking the perfect thread color and pattern that will enhance the quilt top, but not overshadow it. She usually ends up wanting to keep the quilts, but then she remembers how much time and effort the owner spent on that quilt top and always gives it back to its owner. OH, did I mention, she also has her husband build gorgeous blanket ladders so that she can display her quilts all over the house and they SELL them! Sarah loves to sew and now in combination with Sew Easy Sewing in Bristol, VA she's taking a stab at teaching some quilting classes. She went to college to be a math teacher, but ended up in the IT Industry instead so perhaps now she can put some of those teaching skills she learned to good use. She also has 3 children (girl, twin boys) AND 2 grandchildren (boy, girl) who she sews, crochets, and cross stitches many, many, many projects for. I hope to see you at one of her classes. I know I'll be there! |
