3 session / 2 hours
Dec 2nd 10- 12pm
Dec 9th 10 - 12pm
Dec 16th 10-12pm

3 Classes:
+ Class 1: Batting, Thread, and Design Rules of Thumb; create your top
+ Class 2: Overall designs
+ Class 3: Custom Quilting

These classes apply to both long arm quilters and domestic quilters! If you've begun quilting your own tops or have been quilting for years these classes can help guide you through choosing your quilting motifs and introducing new concepts and design strategies.
We will be exploring your personal preferences and discussing what steps to take in deciding quilting motifs for your quilts, mapped out by you for future reference.

Many examples are provided as well as opportunities for you to experiment and discuss (if you choose to) different ways you and others could approach quilting quilt top examples.

Students create a unique wall hanging using half square triangles (using a method to make 24 at a time) to create a quilt with their quilting preferences mapped out.

You will also be practicing with worksheets; choosing a quilt top design and drawing new ideas. I will also have a flimsy (or quilt top) to discuss how to quilt. Feel free to bring a flimsy to share!

Classes include:
+ Planning Worksheets
+ Quilt Design Map
+ Wall Hanging Quilt Pattern
+ Strategies to help you choose your quilting
+ Batting Reference Sheet
+ Batting Booklet from Quilter's Dream Batting
+ Fabrics and Batting
All resources are printable PDF, apart from the batting booklet.
