The Rose

For our tenth Special Edition we've decided to create something entirely different. Instead of modular blocks that you can rearrange we decided to create one large artistic piece titled The Rose?. This special edition is 45 blocks and measures 40? x 72? at its largest size. The rose was painted using wide and varied brush strokes for a stylized, artistic look. The style of painting is very similar to the background of our Geisha quilt and Crane tapestry. The beautiful rose was then set upon a folded fabric background. The folded fabric creates the perfect background while maintaining a low stitch count. This Special Edition is among the lowest stitch counts and fastest to recreate. The entire project uses only 3 fabrics for the background, 3 for the rose and 2 for the leaves. There are also only 7 thread colors so rounding up supplies will not be difficult. The following pages will explain how to create this project step by step and also includes a list of all fabric and thread you will need to complete this project.
