Learn To Quilt Level 2 - $50

Objective: This class will teach the basic skills of piecing a quilt top. Students will learn how to cut fabric in bulk using rotary cutting tools (ruler, mat, rotary cutter), press seams properly so that your fabric and blocks will have minimal stretching, how to square blocks and rows, to use your domestic sewing machine to sew a 1/4 inch seam, and the most effective way to piece large blocks and rows to make a complete top.

Level 2: The Four Patch is all about piecing.
This class is great if you have basic sewing skills, but would like to learn how to quilt.The versatile four patch block is found in countless quilt patterns!
You will use basic sewing skills to cut efficiently, and piece together the blocks for your first quilt top. Learn how to cut a larger amount of fabric efficiently, make your blocks line up well, lock in your rows, and square your blocks!

Intended for adults & teens 14 & older. 

1 session / 2 hours

Supply List:
Items you must bring:
Sewing machine
Fabric or very sharp scissors
Straight pins
Machine Quilting Needle 75/11 or Universal Needle 90/14  
Cotton thread that closely resembles the fabric background color

Items we will have available to use, but that you should consider purchasing:
Cutting mat
Acrylic ruler - I would suggest an 18 inch x 6  in ruler
Rotary cutter
Ironing board

If you do not have a machine you can rent one for the class for $10/class

Minimum of 2 students needed for class to be held.  

Full payment is due to secure your spot upon signing up for a class. 100% of a class fee is refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is done at least 48 hours before class. This allows us to offer your spot to an individual on the waiting list and it insures that our teachers will be compensated for their time. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange.
