NM Beginning Quilting - Cutting & Piecing

Learn to rotary cut and piece a quilt top with the Building Blocks pattern from MSQC's Block Magazine Vol 6, Issue 6. A purchased copy of the magazine or the pattern is required, no pattern sharing.

A quilt sandwich will be provided for some practice free motion quilting.

Fabric Requirements

1 package of 10" squares
3/4 yard coordinating border fabric (small border)

optional: 1-1/4 yards for second, larger border.

Other supplies

Thread to blend or a white, light gray, or medium gray
Cutting mat at least 24" x 18" (36" x 24" recommended)
Rotary cutter with a sharp blade
Ruler 6" x 24" 
Frixion pen, pencil, or other NON-permanent fabric marker (chalk, etc)
OPTIONAL: 2.5" x 8" ruler

Basic sewing notions (pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc)
Sewing machine in good working order
Sewing machine manual for your machine

Extra feet: 1/4" foot and Monogramming (or darning, or free motion) foot
