Bristol Sewing Machine Basics

Are you new to sewing? Or has it been so long that you can't remember basic sewing skills? This class is an introduction to a basic sewing machine. While learning how to set up and operate your machine, you will be making a pin cushion and decorating it with stitches that are standard on your machine!

Student Level- Beginner (but also a good refresher course!)

Supply List- scissors, sewing machine with manual, power cord, foot pedal, machine needles, bobbins, thread and all other accessories that came with machine.

Instructor: Lauren Houser
Instructor Bio: Lauren started sewing over 12 years ago. She quickly fell in love with sewing and never looked back! Lauren has worked as a professional seamstress in Bristol for 10 years. She started as a sewing assistant to a master seamstress and interior designer. Currently, she works as a tailor for a local men?s clothing store. Outside of this work, Lauren designs and sews clothing, bags and accessories under the name Top Stitch Studios. She sells her work at local and regional arts and craft fairs. Lauren also loves to promote the arts though sharing her love and knowledge of sewing. She has been teaching private and group lessons in the tri-cities. Last year, Lauren spent two weeks traveling and teaching with Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts outreach program called Artreach on the Road. Lauren is currently in school at Northeast State Community College where she is studying small business management and visual design.
