Who Are We?
Thank you for asking!
We are a couple of friends who love to sew and share our knowledge and talent with others.
Meet Judie
Hi! I'm Judie. Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. I am the owner of Attic Treasures & Sew Easy Sewing School.
I am married to the most wonderful man, John. He married me 30 years ago (December 1979) and in doing so, took on 3 nearly teen-aged step-daughters ages 8, 9, and 12. He loves them and has raised them as his own.
I am the mother of 3, step-mother of 1, foster-mother of 1, grandmother of 18 (plus 3 in Heaven), and great-grandmother to 4.
From left to right on the diagonal - Row 1: Johnathan (18), Chelsea (13), Ali (16), Ryan (12), Ashley (16). Row 2: Emily (12), Jeffrey (13), Kiraleigh (11), Kira Marie (great grandaughter) (4 months), Courtney (11), Wesley (8). Row 3: Julia (10), JUDIE (me), Samuel (1). Not pictured are Cameron (15), Caitlyn (13), Corey (14), Desiree (12), and Darian (10). Our Angels are Lilyann, Kristen, and one whose name is known only to God.
That photo is nearly seven years old, taken in December 2003. All the children are older and we have several new additions. The newest additions are another grandson, Jack (2005); and my great-grandsons, Auston (2005) & Travis (2006), and a great-granddaughter, Sarah, (2008). We are expecting two more additions in late 2010 - a new grandchild (Dec 2010) and a new great-granddaughter (Oct 31st).
Our virtual store has been open for more than 6 years and the Attic Treasures physical store has been open for about eight years. I had previously been running the sewing school from my home in Springfield for about 10 years. I have been teaching different sewing techniques to individuals for about 26 years.
We became an authorized Singer® dealership in 2004 and an authorized Baby Lock® dealer in 2005. The sewing school is now run from within Attic Treasures.
I have a genuine love of sewing that I wish to spread to all who visit our store and our website. Thank you for spending a little time with us today.
May God bless and keep you always,
Judie
Meet Sue Ann
I inherited my love for sewing from my mother. At the age of 8, she started teaching me to sew. And as I grew, my love for sewing continued to grow along with my love for creating things and teaching others. I started teaching and sharing my ideas with others 25 years ago in New York.
Starting 13 years ago, with the birth of several grand nieces and nephews, I began to focus on making outfits for them. However, my sewing experience encompasses clothing apparel; heirloom sewing; craft sewing; and home decorating. I was also bitten by the quilting bug within the last couple years. In 1999 I became a licensed Martha Pullen Educator and continue to attend seminars and classes to expand my knowledge for myself and to share with others.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to inspire in others the desire to sew at home by teaching the old techniques of hand sewing as well as the new computer technology that has made sewing so much fun and so much easier.
